Build your own website from scratch.

10. Build each individual page.

Now that the template file for your site is built, it is time to start developing each page of the site. For this step you need to have within reach your previously developed Site Map (Flowchart) and all the content you built in step 4. There are just a few remarks to be made at this point. Unless the site has very simple navigation schemes, it will be necessary to use inline hyperlinks as well. This means that inside the text you wrote you will include links to other pages, either yours or others'. You may also want to include /inline images/ to go along with the content. These images are specific to each page and therefore they are not included in the template. To exploit completely the potential of the template file it is advisable to be consistent with the formatting as well; this means that if on one of your pages the title's font is Arial, bold and 24pt in size, don't go around and change it to Courier, 18pt in size in the next one. If applicable try to be consistent with the hierarchy too; this is, if you use titles and 3 different types of subtitles, try to use them in all pages. One exception to these rules is when your site has many zones or realms and each has its own formatting, colors and even layout. But within these zones, the formatting should be kept mostly the same. For example, if the site has a "Reviews" and a "Tutorials" zone, maybe the "Reviews" will be light and dark blue while the "Tutorials" will be white and light gray; but within the many "Reviews" pages, all will be light and dark blue.

By this step you should be finishing your site, you should en up with quite a collection of files, from which most of them will be put online for the world to see. Maybe you should create a folder within your site's directory to put all the template files and other files that won't be online. This way it will be easier to upload your files to your hosting provider's servers. When you are done giving your site the finishing touches and polishing up the content you will be ready to move forward onto putting your site online.
